Trump Vows Nationwide Missile Strike on Iran Following Alleged Assassination Plot

President Donald Trump warned Friday evening that the United States has prepared “1,000 missiles” to strike Iran if Tehran attempts an assassination against him.

In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran,” adding that “thousands of more” would immediately follow should the Iranian government act on what he described as repeated threats targeting himself.

The former president stated: “Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran,” ending with, “PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!”

The warning followed Trump’s earlier claim that he had instructed advisers to launch an overwhelming military response should Iran succeed in assassinating him.

“I’ve left instructions – if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,” Trump said, while dismissing reports that Israel had uncovered a new Iranian assassination plot against him.

“I’ve been on their list for a long time.”

Trump has repeatedly linked threats against his life to the January 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, a top commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

U.S. intelligence and law enforcement officials have long warned that Tehran seeks revenge for Soleimani’s death.

The Justice Department announced in late 2024 that it had disrupted an alleged Iranian murder-for-hire plot targeting Trump prior to the presidential election.

Federal authorities continue to cite Iranian threats as a significant security concern.

Despite his warning, Trump indicated Friday that diplomatic contacts with Tehran would continue. In a separate Truth Social post, he stated Iran requested further negotiations, but the United States had “in no uncertain terms” informed Tehran that “the Cease Fire is OVER!”
