Trump Celebrates Sweeping Victory for GOP Candidates in Arizona Primary

President Donald Trump declared a string of victories for his endorsed candidates in Arizona’s Republican primary on Wednesday, characterizing the results as proof that the battleground state is solidifying its shift toward the GOP.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump proclaimed: “MAGA CANDIDATES WON EVERYTHING LAST NIGHT IN ARIZONA, A COMPLETE SWEEP!!!” He added, “I WON ARIZONA 18 MONTHS AGO. THE DEMOCRATS ARE DUMBFOUNDED. AFTER DECADES, ARIZONA IS BECOMING A REPUBLICAN STATE.”

The president also spotlighted Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., who secured the Republican nomination for governor after defeating fellow Rep. David Schweikert in the primary. Trump lauded Biggs as “a GREAT Governor” and noted he would soon face Democratic incumbent Katie Hobbs, whom Trump criticized as “weak on Crime” but “strong on Raising Taxes.”

Trump additionally reported victories for multiple candidates in Arizona’s congressional primaries. Former NFL kicker Jay Feely won the Republican nomination in the competitive 1st Congressional District, defeating former state Rep. Joseph Chaplik. Feely campaigned on his relationship with Trump and support for the president’s “America First” agenda. He will face the winner of a Democratic primary between emergency physician Amish Shah and party-backed candidate Marlene Galán-Woods.

Former Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, another Trump-endorsed candidate, also secured victory in his U.S. House primary race.

Arizona remains one of the nation’s premier political battlegrounds, with Republicans aiming to build on recent statewide gains while Democrats seek to retain control of the governor’s office and compete for key congressional seats.
