Florida Congressman Claims ‘Islamification’ of America Surpasses All Other Issues in Landmark Poll

U.S. Representative Randy Fine, Florida Republican, stated on Wednesday that a recent campaign poll conducted in his congressional district found concern over what he termed the “Islamification” of America ranked as the top issue among voters, surpassing concerns about abortion, healthcare, and the Iran conflict.

Fine said he insisted his pollster include a question about “radical Islam” despite initial resistance.

“Typically, when people are running for office, you ask about the No. 1 issue people are facing,” Fine explained. “There’s usually the standard 12 things: inflation, healthcare, abortion, Second Amendment. I said, ‘I want you to put radical Islam in.'”

According to Fine, his pollster argued that “no one will care” about such a question, but the results proved otherwise.

“I insisted,” he added, “and I’m paying for it, so I get to decide.” The poll revealed that seven times as many respondents expressed worry about radical Islam compared to other typical issues.

Fine attributed the concern to voters seeing values in the United States shifting from those upon which the nation was built.

“As we celebrate our 250th anniversary, we cannot allow that to take hold,” he said.

The representative also promoted his proposed No Sharia Act, a federal bill that would apply to U.S. courts and government institutions. He described it as necessary “to prevent forcing religious beliefs on others.”

“Under my bill,” Fine stated, “you can practice your religion in peace and prosperity on your own, but you cannot force it on other people.”

He acknowledged the legislation could impact blue states if enacted.

When asked about the likelihood of passing Congress, Fine expressed uncertainty but vowed to continue his efforts.

“We don’t know if we’ll get it passed,” he said. “But I’m not stopping until we do.”
