White House Advisor Calls for Universal Body Cameras to Counter Alleged Video Manipulation in Immigration Enforcement Stella Green, February 2, 2026 White House senior adviser Corey Lewandowski has urged Congress to fund universal body cameras for all U.S. immigration enforcement agents, claiming that unedited footage will expose the reality of incidents being manipulated by radicalized leftists. In a recent statement, Lewandowski emphasized that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection officers are requesting body cameras as a measure of personal protection. He asserted that “immigration enforcement agitators” selectively edit videos of field operations, using snippets to distort the truth about what transpires. “The bottom line is these officers have come out and asked for these body cams,” Lewandowski said. “We’re seeing radicalized leftists taking snippets of incidents and using them to create a false narrative.” Lewandowski stressed that Congress must support immigration enforcement by covering the costs of equipping all agents with cameras. He added, “If Congress is going to fund the Department of Homeland Security, then every officer under Kristi Noem’s leadership will have body cams on so everybody can see what’s going on for the protection of the officers and the safety of the people.” When asked about Kristi Noem’s future as DHS secretary, Lewandowski expressed confidence in her position. He claimed that “Kristi Noem under [President] Donald Trump’s leadership has secured the border at our lowest crime rates since recorded history” and “helped deport 3 million people who were in this country illegally.” Lewandowski dismissed Democratic criticisms of Noem’s performance, stating that complaints “don’t have much value.” He argued that Democrats instead seek to “vilify the people who are enforcing the laws that Congress has passed,” rather than advocate for those they claim to protect. “The bottom line for Lewandowski is that Kristi Noem has done a phenomenal job,” he said, adding that it would be difficult for President Trump to replace her as DHS secretary after she has “implemented the most difficult part” of his agenda.
