Trump Demands Democratic Officials Hand Over Migrant Detainees Amid ‘Dangerous Circumstances’

President Donald Trump on Sunday issued a stark warning to Democrat governors and mayors nationwide, urging immediate cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Speaking on Truth Social, the president accused those who refuse to comply of creating “dangerous circumstances” that have resulted in the deaths of two American citizens.

Trump outlined four specific actions he demanded from Democratic officials:
– Turn over all criminal illegal migrants currently held in state prisons and local jails, as well as those with active warrants or known criminal histories, to federal authorities for immediate deportation.
– Transfer custody of all illegal migrants arrested by local police to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
– Require local law enforcement to assist federal authorities in apprehending and detaining illegal migrants wanted for crimes.
– Partner with the federal government to rapidly remove criminal illegal migrants, citing Republican-led states like Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Louisiana where ICE has arrested over 150,000 individuals without protests or riots.

The president singled out Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for obstructing immigration enforcement efforts. He accused them of refusing to cooperate with ICE and encouraging opposition to federal operations. Trump contrasted Democratic-led jurisdictions with Republican states, asserting that coordination between local and federal authorities ensures orderly enforcement without public unrest.

Additionally, Trump called on Congress to pass legislation ending sanctuary city policies nationwide, labeling them the “root cause” of the problem. He stated that American cities should be “safe sanctuaries for law-abiding American citizens only.”
