Trump Administration Achieves Border Security Triumph After Biden’s Years of Failure

Stella Green, December 25, 2025

Former acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf stated on Thursday that President Donald Trump has delivered a dramatic turnaround at the southern border after years of failure under former President Joe Biden.

Wolf described illegal crossings as having dropped to near zero in some sectors, marking a sharp reversal from the mass migration that characterized the Biden administration’s term. During Biden’s four years in office, Wolf said millions crossed the border illegally while Americans pleaded for action. “The American people were pleading with the Biden administration to stop the mass invasion,” he added, noting President Biden claimed he had done everything possible and it was now up to Congress.

Wolf argued that Biden already possessed the authority to act but refused to use it—a claim he said never matched reality. The former DHS official credited Trump’s team with restoring border security in months and sustaining it throughout the year, calling it a return to reality and sanity after a system that had spiraled out of control.

He emphasized that the administration is now focused on removing individuals who entered the country illegally during the Biden years, stating the cleanup effort could take years. “The hard part is actually removing individuals that had come in under President Biden that shouldn’t be here,” Wolf said.

Wolf also addressed criticism from left-wing groups claiming the administration’s use of military support along the border undermines the law. He countered that such organizations, including think tanks and activists, supported the Biden administration and advocated for an open border. “These left-wing groups liked what occurred under the Biden administration,” he stated.

Wolf highlighted concrete results, including the seizure of massive amounts of fentanyl and the deployment of Border Patrol agents back to frontline enforcement. He noted that during Biden’s presidency, about 80% of Border Patrol agents were stationed in facilities processing migrants, whereas today all agents are actively deployed with support from the National Guard and military.

“The turnaround comes down to leadership,” Wolf said, adding that President Trump came into office declaring, “We have a different way of securing this border, and we’re going to move forward.”
