Rep. Randy Fine accused Senate Democrats of endangering American families by refusing to pass a continuing resolution, risking the collapse of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and leaving 42 million Americans, including children, without food support. Speaking on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America Early,” Fine condemned the Democratic leadership for prioritizing political agendas over public welfare, stating they were “taking food from American kids just to make a point.”

Fine alleged that Senate Democrats were prolonging the government shutdown to oppose President Donald Trump, whom he praised as “the greatest president of my lifetime.” He criticized the party’s focus on blocking policies related to illegal immigrants, claiming it was an “insanity” that harmed essential workers and vulnerable populations. The Florida Republican also announced plans to introduce legislation restricting SNAP benefits for both legal and undocumented individuals, arguing the program should be a temporary aid, not a long-term dependency.

Fine urged Democrats to end the shutdown, suggesting Halloween could be a symbolic day to restore funding. He emphasized Trump’s efforts to protect military and federal employees during the crisis but stopped short of addressing broader implications of the stalemate.
