Oklahoma Senator Warns Democrats Are Taxing Americans Instead of Delivering Benefits

On Monday, Sen. Markwayne Mullin, a Republican from Oklahoma, stated that Democrats have consistently opposed President Donald Trump’s tax cuts, leaving many Americans without promised benefits.

In remarks, Mullin said union members — the Democratic Party’s base — are becoming increasingly frustrated with their leadership for supporting the party despite its policies.

“I recently met with several union groups in Oregon,” Mullin explained. “They were upset because their leadership continually supports the Democratic Party when the party has left them behind.”

Mullin emphasized that no Democrats voted to include tax relief for senior citizens on Social Security, tipped workers, or overtime payers.

“Not one single Democrat in the House or Senate supported these tax cuts,” he said. “Instead, they all voted to tax those groups.”

The senator added that businesses and individuals are increasingly relocating from blue states such as California and Massachusetts to Oklahoma and Texas.

“People will see significant benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill when they receive their 2025 tax returns,” Mullin stated. “This is why you’ll see a dramatic increase in take-home pay during the second quarter.”

Mullin concluded that Republicans are investing in communities, states, and hometowns — ensuring money stays with citizens rather than Washington, D.C.

“We believe it’s better for Americans to keep their money where they live,” he said. “But Democrats are fighting us every step of the way.”
