Netanyahu Calls Trump “Savior” of Christian Communities in Middle East

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will be remembered as the man who brought America back and ensured Israel remained the only place safe for Christian communities in the Middle East.

Netanyahu made the remarks during an interview on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren” one day after meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, where he announced Trump would be the first American to win the Israel Prize.

“History will judge him well,” Netanyahu, the son of a historian, said. “Sometimes it takes time for people to appreciate because there’s this battle of constant vilification and political opposition.”

“But ultimately, that’s settled over time,” he added.

Netanyahu praised Trump for relocating the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem—a move previous administrations had failed to achieve.

“He says it like it is,” Netanyahu said. “He cuts to the chase, and then he acts.”

The Israeli leader also highlighted Trump’s support for persecuted Christian communities, which he described as thriving in Israel while facing oppression elsewhere in the region.

“Christians are oppressed everywhere in the Middle East, except in Israel,” Netanyahu stated. “That’s the only place where the Christian community is growing and thriving because that’s part of our ethos.”

Netanyahu further noted that after Hamas and Hezbollah attacked Israel, his administration worked to transform the region for the better.

“We changed the Middle East for the better by cutting down the Iranian terror proxy network and pushing back nuclear weapons threats against Israel,” he said. “We acted on it, and we acted together—now we have opportunities for peace that we should pursue.”
