Minneapolis Woman Shot Dead by ICE Agent; Mother Says She Was Not Involved in Protests Stella Green, January 7, 2026 By Mark Swanson | Wednesday, 07 January 2026 05:45 PM EST A mother identified a 37-year-old woman as the victim of a fatal shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday. Donna Ganger stated her daughter lived in the Twin Cities with her partner but did not specify whether she resided in Minneapolis. The family learned of the death late Wednesday morning. “After hearing details from a reporter, I called the killing ‘so stupid’ and my daughter was ‘probably terrified,'” Ganger said. She added that her daughter was “not part of anything like that at all,” referring to protesters challenging ICE agents. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the incident was labeled an act of domestic terrorism after alleging that Good rammed a federal immigration agent. A DHS statement read: “An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated at a press conference that Good appeared to be blocking the road with her car. At some point, the vehicle was approached by an ICE officer and began to drive off, making contact with an agent, according to video footage. The incident resulted in at least two shots being fired. President Donald Trump described the incident on social media, stating that the driver was “very disorderly, obstructing and resisting,” and claimed she “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer.” He added that the officer acted in self-defense and is currently recovering in a hospital. Law enforcement agencies have not confirmed that Good was the person shot by an ICE agent. Ganger described her daughter as one of the kindest people she had ever known. “She was extremely compassionate,” Ganger said. “She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.” Politics
