ICE Agent Jonathan Ross Dragged Over 100 Yards by Fleeing Suspect in Minnesota

Stella Green, January 8, 2026

ICE Agent Jonathan Ross, reportedly involved in the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on Wednesday, was dragged more than 100 yards by a fleeing suspect’s vehicle during an arrest attempt in Bloomington, Minnesota. The incident occurred in June when Ross suffered injuries requiring 20 stitches to his right arm and 13 stitches to his left hand.

According to court records, Ross fatally shot Good in her vehicle on Wednesday, sparking large protests across Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security stated the officer acted in self-defense after she attempted to run him over.

Anti-ICE protesters clashed with police in Minnesota on Thursday as demonstrations continued following her death. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, a Democrat, criticized DHS’ characterization and told ICE to “get the [expletive] out of Minneapolis” during a Wednesday news conference.

The June incident that injured Ross led to a federal conviction for Roberto Carlos Munoz, 40, in December. A jury in U.S. District Court in St. Paul found Munoz guilty of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous and deadly weapon and causing bodily injury.

Court testimony revealed agents stopped Munoz at about 8 a.m. June 17 to detain him on an immigration order. When he partially lowered his vehicle’s window and door but did not obey further commands, Ross broke the rear window and tried to unlock the car from inside. Munoz then accelerated away, dragging Ross for at least 100 yards as his arm became trapped in the vehicle.

Court records documented a long, deep jagged cut on Ross’ right arm requiring 20 stitches, with 13 on his left hand. A Department of Justice statement described how Munoz “dragged the federal agent for more than 100 yards, while weaving back and forth in an attempt to shake the agent from the car.”

Munoz was also convicted in December 2022 of repeated sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl, resulting in a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct felony charge.
