Finland’s Foreign Minister Hails Trump Peace Plan for Ukraine

Elina Valtonen, Finland’s foreign minister, has publicly commended President Donald Trump’s diplomatic initiatives regarding peace efforts in Ukraine. Speaking during an appearance on “Wake Up America,” Valtonen stated that the ongoing negotiations to broker a deal ending Russia’s war are proving extremely fruitful.

” Well, to my understanding, the peace plan is quite comprehensive,” she said. “So obviously it takes time not just to read but also to properly assess what its implications might be. But this assessment ultimately rests with Ukraine.”

Valtonen noted that President Trump has significantly contributed momentum to the diplomatic process since taking office earlier this year. She praised his efforts, saying they were welcomed in Europe.

” We do very much appreciate the work of President Trump,” Valtonen said. “And he brought a certain energy right from day one that helped move things forward.”

The plan aims not only for an immediate ceasefire but also to address long-term peace conditions necessary for lasting stability between Ukraine and Russia. Valtonen stressed the importance of ensuring any agreement is durable, not merely a temporary pause in hostilities.

Valtonen added: “This is not solely his war, yet it will be remembered as Trump’s peace.” She emphasized that while Ukraine holds sovereign rights to evaluate the plan, international cooperation has been crucial for its development and implementation.
