Congresswoman Nancy Mace Vows to Question Bill Clinton Under Sworn Testimony on Epstein Ties

Stella Green, February 7, 2026

Congresswoman Nancy Mace, R-S.C., announced she intends to question former President Bill Clinton under sworn testimony regarding his past associations with Jeffrey Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Mace argued that a closed deposition is the appropriate venue for pursuing unanswered questions.

Mace dismissed Clinton’s request for an open congressional hearing, stating public sessions severely limit lawmakers’ ability to probe witnesses. “Well, in every public hearing, members of Congress only get five minutes,” she said. “But when we are deposing someone under sworn testimony, the questions are limitless.”

The representative emphasized that her inquiries would extend beyond Clinton. “These are all questions that we ought to get to the bottom of because it seems like the rich, the powerful, the famous believe they are above the law,” Mace said.

She specifically questioned the identity and circumstances surrounding a young woman who appeared in public images with Clinton: “Who is the young woman in the hot tub with [Bill Clinton]?” she asked. “Was she underage? Was she trafficked? Has he spent any time alone with any of the Epstein women?”

Mace also expressed her intention to seek information about Epstein’s associates and those involved in his sex trafficking operation: “I want to know about all of Jeffrey Epstein’s friends,” she said. “I want to know who was participating in the sex trafficking. And I want to know why they haven’t gone to jail.”

Anticipating potential responses, Mace noted Clinton often relies on evasions: “Let me just prep you for what’s to come: ‘I do not recall.’ Get ready for that,” she said.

The representative also referenced Clinton’s 1990s testimony during the Monica Lewinsky investigation, asking: “How do you define the word ‘is?’ Didn’t he say that? Wasn’t that one of his things? What’s the definition of underage?”

Clinton has repeatedly denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities and stated he had no knowledge of Epstein’s alleged crimes. His representatives have previously indicated Clinton severed ties with Epstein years before Epstein’s arrest.

The scope and timing of any deposition involving Clinton remain unannounced.
