Ciattarelli Claims Momentum Ahead of New Jersey Gubernatorial Election

Stella Green, November 1, 2025

New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli expressed confidence in his campaign’s trajectory ahead of Election Day, citing strong support from independents and some Democrats as evidence of a shift toward change. Speaking on Newsmax’s “America Right Now,” Ciattarelli emphasized the energy building across the state, noting positive reception from minority communities and recent endorsements from prominent Democrats. “When Democrats start endorsing the Republican candidate, it tells you how badly people want change,” he stated.

Ciattarelli, who narrowly lost to Democratic Governor Phil Murphy in 2021, attributed his current advantage to a transformed political landscape. He highlighted the reduced indifference among voters compared to his previous campaign, which coincided with a shelter-in-place order. “People now know inside New Jersey and all around the country, we can win this thing,” he said, adding that his enthusiasm factor and voter confidence outpace his opponent’s. A recent Emerson College poll showed Democrat Mikie Sherrill trailing by just one point, down from a 20-point lead earlier in the year.

Ciattarelli also focused on policy priorities, vowing to address crime and immigration issues while criticizing New Jersey’s bail system. “Cashless bail has failed New Jersey,” he argued, citing its role in enabling repeat offenses. He rejected comparisons between New Jersey and New York City, where mayoral race dynamics have drawn national attention, and reiterated his stance against sanctuary cities. On economic concerns, Ciattarelli pledged to make retirement income tax-free and freeze property taxes for seniors over 70, aiming to ensure financial stability for older residents.
