House Rep. Dan Meuser Condemns Democratic Obstruction Over Economic Policies

Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., accused Democrats of deliberately undermining the U.S. economy and using government gridlock as a political weapon against President Donald Trump’s agenda, according to remarks shared with Newsmax. The House Financial Services Committee member criticized Democratic handling of key economic and healthcare policies, claiming it demonstrates a willingness to “damage America” for political gain.

Meuser cited rising costs under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), stating, “It’s $350 billion higher,” and dismissed claims that Republicans caused the financial strain. He argued Democrats are “betting on” public ignorance, asserting, “They really think people are going to believe their lies continuously rather than be informed of the truth.”

The Pennsylvania lawmaker condemned Democratic obstruction of critical fiscal issues, calling it an effort to block Trump’s agenda and secure future political advantages. “The Democrats… think damaging America, damaging the economy, is what’s best in their view,” he said. Meuser also criticized Senate negotiations over a continuing resolution to fund the government, calling disputes over its duration “nonsense.”

He emphasized the need to prioritize fiscal responsibility and fix the ACA, which he described as “way out of whack.” Meuser urged lawmakers to focus on practical governance rather than political maneuvering, stating, “Americans deserve a government that’s functional and policies that make sense— not gamesmanship designed to hurt the country for political gain.”
