House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., criticized Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., for seeking high-profile media appearances, stating, “She likes to get the big interviews, and that’s fine.” Johnson made the remarks during an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s podcast “Straight Shooter,” where he acknowledged Greene’s right to speak publicly.

Greene has previously accused GOP male leaders of being ineffective and sidelining conservative women, calling the government shutdown a “disgrace” and criticizing House leadership for failing to address legislative priorities. She emphasized that federal employees should be paid and programs funded, asserting, “We should be at work.” Greene also criticized Republican healthcare policies, stating, “Mike Johnson, for a month now, cannot give me a single policy idea,” and expressed frustration over the lack of action on Obamacare reforms.

Johnson defended the majority’s unity, noting that 99.5% of GOP lawmakers in the House understand their goals. He reiterated his openness to Greene’s input but highlighted her public critiques as separate from internal party dynamics.
