GOP Gubernatorial Race in New Jersey Turns Critical as RNC Champions Ciattarelli’s Bid for Change

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Joe Gruters labeled Tuesday’s Election Day a “turning point” for New Jersey, a historically Democratic-leaning state, as the GOP races to unseat outgoing Governor Phil Murphy. Gruters praised candidate Jack Ciattarelli’s efforts to challenge the state’s political status quo, emphasizing his focus on fiscal responsibility and voter empowerment.

In a statement shared with Newsmax, Gruters criticized Mikie Sherrill, the Democratic incumbent, for what he described as “higher taxes and broken promises,” while highlighting Ciattarelli’s commitment to lowering costs for New Jersey families. “Jack Ciattarelli will lead with common sense, fight for working families, and lower taxes for every New Jerseyan,” Gruters asserted.

The RNC has prioritized the race, with Gruters campaigning alongside Ciattarelli in Hazlet, Leonardo, and Toms River this weekend to mobilize voters. Ciattarelli, who previously nearly unseated Murphy in 2021, claimed he has overcome three key obstacles this year: the absence of pandemic-era restrictions, no incumbent advantage, and a growing public demand for change.

Ciattarelli reiterated his belief that New Jersey no longer needs to be governed by Democrats, citing widespread voter support for his platform. The race remains closely watched as both parties seek to reshape the state’s political landscape.
