Biden’s Decline and the Cover-Up: A Deep Dive into the White House Scandal

Stella Green, November 3, 2025

WASHINGTON — What did former President Joe Biden not know, and when did his staff know it? This question will haunt the former president and his inner circle for years as tell-all books and reports from Hill Republicans reveal the story of Biden’s mental decline, which a tight-knit group of top aides allegedly tried to conceal from the public.

The latest revelations come via the U.S. House Oversight Committee, which released a 91-page report titled The Biden Autopen Presidency: Decline, Delusion and Deception in the White House on Tuesday. The document paints a stark picture of dysfunction, with allegations that key advisors prioritized protecting Biden’s image over transparency.

The report highlights concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities, including his use of an autopen to sign documents and inconsistencies in his public appearances. White House physician Kevin O’Connor faced scrutiny for allegedly failing to order a cognitive test on the president, a decision described as “we don’t want to know.” Former senior adviser Anita Dunn raised questions about Biden’s mental state but reportedly saw no action taken.

The report also scrutinizes Biden’s use of presidential pardon power, including controversial pardons for his son Hunter and other family members. Committee findings suggest that 96% of Biden’s pardons were issued during his final four months in office. Legal experts noted that presidents cannot undo previous pardons, but the timing and scope of these actions remain contentious.

Key aides, including deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini and first lady Jill Biden’s chief of staff Anthony Bernal, invoked their Fifth Amendment rights during committee hearings. Communications aide Ian Sams, tasked with addressing media inquiries about Biden’s health, admitted to meeting the president only four times.

The report also delves into allegations of classified information mishandling by Biden, though no charges were filed due to the challenges of prosecuting an “elderly man with a poor memory.” Senior adviser Ashley Williams reportedly downplayed the importance of memory in the White House, stating, “I wouldn’t characterize having a good memory as something that is important in the White House.”

The article underscores a pattern of secrecy and self-preservation by Biden’s inner circle, raising questions about accountability and leadership. The findings continue to fuel debates over the former president’s fitness for office and the integrity of his administration.
