Public Outrage Over Alleged Autopen Misuse by Biden Aides, Survey Reveals Stella Green, November 3, 2025 By Newsmax Wires | Monday, 03 November 2025 03:38 PM EST A majority of voters (52%) believe aides to former President Joe Biden should face criminal prosecution for allegedly using the autopen to improperly exercise presidential authority, according to a Rasmussen Reports national survey released Monday. The poll found 32% disagree with this view, while 17% remain uncertain. Additionally, 55% of likely U.S. voters believe it is likely that Biden’s White House staff used the autopen to sign documents without his knowledge or approval, including 40% who say it is very likely. Thirty-three percent claim it is not likely Biden staffers acted this way without the president’s consent, with 18% stating it is “not at all likely,” and 12% unsure. The survey follows a House Oversight Committee report last week that alleged Biden’s aides exploited his declining mental and physical condition to assume presidential authority, including misusing the autopen and failing to document decisions properly. The Rasmussen Reports poll surveyed 1,157 U.S. likely voters via telephone and online between October 28-30, with a margin of error of ±3 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
