GOP Leader Warns Democratic Radicalism Will Alienate Voters in Upcoming Midterms Stella Green, June 23, 2026 By Sam Barron | Tuesday, 23 June 2026 10:07 PM EDT Republican National Committee Chair Joe Gruters said on Tuesday that the GOP can reverse historic trends and maintain its majority in the House of Representatives. Gruters stated that Democrats are nominating far left candidates which will only alienate voters. He pointed to Darializa Chevalier, who wants to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement and is opposed to deportation, military aid, and prison for murderers. “It’s disgusting,” Gruters said. “But that’s what the left is putting out.” The RNC chair noted that these radical leftists are being inspired by AOC and Bernie Sanders, running across the country. He added that a lot of these districts are competitive. “If they’re putting up these radicals, we’re getting a lot of favorable matchups,” he said. Gruters highlighted dysfunction in the United Kingdom, which has had seven prime ministers in ten years amid an increase in migrants coming to the country. “Americans overall know what’s happening,” he said. “They see with their own eyes what’s happened over in Europe to a lot of our trusted allies, and they don’t want it to happen here.” Gruters mentioned that Florida has passed numerous laws to ban Shariah law and taken proactive steps. “We’ve done other things to take a proactive approach,” he added. “And I think that really needs to be done across the country sooner than later.” The RNC chair stated that Democrats have gone too far to the left, saying: “This is what’s happened to their party. They’ve gone so far to the left.” He noted that voters are going to reject this at the polls. Gruters cited the Cook Political Report, which identifies 18 toss-up seats in the House of Representatives. “We have a chance to defy history and win these midterms,” he said. Politics
