Blood on Democrats’ Hands: Georgia Congressman Links Teacher’s Death to Four Years of Open Border Policies

Stella Green, February 17, 2026

Rep. Buddy Carter said four years of open border policies under the Biden administration and efforts to encourage non-cooperation with law enforcement have led to a deadly car crash that killed Linda Davis, a kindergarten through eighth-grade teacher at Hess Elementary School in Savannah-Chatham.

The incident occurred when authorities reported an illegal migrant suspect fled from Department of Homeland Security officers during a traffic stop, triggering a pursuit that ended in death. Carter described the collision as “a tragedy” and emphasized, “It is a tragedy. Again, here we lose one of our finest.” He added, “She was a beloved teacher who was there helping students.”

Carter accused Democratic leaders of prioritizing illegal immigrants over public safety, stating: “She is a victim. She is a victim of … the Democrats having an open border for four years and again encouraging people not to cooperate with ICE.” He further declared, “This is what happens. Now they’ve got blood on their hands.”

The Georgia congressman specifically named Senate Democratic leaders and referenced previous high-profile crimes in Georgia involving illegal immigrants, calling the crash “another example of where innocent bystanders are impacted by the policies” of Democratic leadership.
