Biden Condemns Minneapolis Unrest, Calls for Federal Investigations After Fatal Shootings

Former President Joe Biden has issued a scathing social media statement condemning escalating violence in Minneapolis and demanding investigations into recent fatal shootings involving federal officials.

In the post on X, Biden wrote that what has unfolded in the city over the past month “betrays our most basic values as Americans.” He accused the Trump administration of allowing citizens to be “terrorized” and stated: “We are not a nation that guns down our citizens in the street.”

The former president also condemned government authorities for violence, asserting that “violence and terror have no place in the United States of America, especially when it’s our own government targeting American citizens.” Biden called for “full, fair, and transparent investigations” into the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good and noted he and former first lady Jill Biden were sending “strength to the families and communities” affected.

The statement follows heightened tensions in Minneapolis after multiple fatal incidents involving federal law enforcement officials sparked widespread protests and demands for accountability.
