Denmark and Greenland Bolster Arctic Defense as U.S. Tensions Rise

Denmark and Greenland announced on Wednesday that they have begun increasing their military presence in and around Greenland in close cooperation with allies, as part of their commitment to strengthen Arctic defense capabilities.

The announcement follows weeks of threats by President Donald Trump to take control of the island, an autonomous territory of Denmark, prompting Denmark’s and Greenland’s foreign ministers to plan meetings with U.S. Vice President JD Vance.
