RNC Reports 134 Legal Cases and Over 150 Actions in 2025 Push to Uphold Election Integrity Stella Green, December 30, 2025 The Republican National Committee (RNC) has released its 2025 legal recap, highlighting a nationwide campaign to strengthen election integrity and protect First Amendment rights. According to the RNC, the party is involved in 134 active legal cases and over 150 investigatory and regulatory actions across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The majority of these efforts focus on election integrity issues, reflecting President Donald Trump’s directive to ensure elections are “secure and free of fraud.” RNC Chair Joe Gruters stated in a release: “The RNC had an incredible year standing up for common sense election laws and defending election integrity across the country. Because of the hard work of our legal and grassroots teams, voters can have greater confidence in the integrity of our elections.” Of the 134 active cases, 115 directly relate to election integrity. One of the most closely watched cases is Watson v. Republican National Committee, which is scheduled for oral argument before the U.S. Supreme Court this spring. The case will determine whether federal law requires mail-in ballots to be received by Election Day or counted days later. The RNC reported legal actions in 37 states during 2025, with concentrated activity in five key battlegrounds: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Notable victories include a New York court ruling that blocked non-citizens from voting, a successful challenge alongside the Arizona Republican Party regarding non-resident voting, and a ballot security lawsuit victory against Michigan’s secretary of state. Additionally, the RNC is pursuing more than 150 investigatory and regulatory actions nationwide to monitor election procedures, maintain voter rolls, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
