Former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Kurt Volker has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent decisions, warning they have enabled ongoing Russian aggression despite claims from President Donald Trump that Vladimir Putin seeks peace.

In a statement Monday, Volker highlighted a stark contrast between Trump’s public assertions about Putin’s intentions and Russia’s military actions in Ukraine. The ambassador noted that Russian forces continue to launch nightly attacks on civilian infrastructure and target critical utilities across the country, directly contradicting any notion of Putin pursuing stability for Ukraine.
