Trump’s New ‘Presidential Walk of Fame’ Plaques Mock Former Democratic Leaders with Blistering Critiques

The Trump administration has continued its campaign of political satire by adding new plaques to the “Presidential Walk of Fame” that offer harsh critiques of former Democratic presidents.

Although Trump had previously mocked Joe Biden in September by replacing his photo with an autopen, the president took a more aggressive step this week by appending a new caption below Biden’s signature. The plaque states: “Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American history,” adding that he “brought our Nation to the brink of destruction.” It further claims that Biden’s Afghanistan disaster “was among the most humiliating events in American history and resulted in the murder of 13 brave American servicemembers, with many others gravely wounded.”

The new plaque for Barack Obama includes his middle name, Hussein, and labels him “one of the most divisive political figures in American history.” It states that Obama “passed the highly ineffective ‘Unaffordable’ Care Act, resulting in his party losing control of both Houses of Congress,” while also noting he “presided over a stagnant economy, approved the terrible Iran nuclear deal, and signed the one-sided Paris Climate Accords.”

Trump has not spared George W. Bush either, updating his plaque with the text: “President Bush created the Department of Homeland Security, but started wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, both of which should not have happened.” The additions to Jimmy Carter’s plaque highlight high inflation during his presidency but include the phrase: “Many feel that President Carter was more successful after his Presidency than during it. He did wonderful things for Humanity!”

The administration also updated Ronald Reagan’s plaque with a positive note: “He was a fan of President Donald J. Trump long before President Trump’s historic run for the White House. Likewise, President Trump was a fan of his!”

These recent changes to the Presidential Walk of Fame are part of a broader wave of modifications by the Trump administration at the White House, including the relocation of the Rose Garden and the construction of a new ballroom that could cost up to $400 million.
