House Rep. Delia Ramirez Demands Impeachment Probe Against DHS Secretary Noem Over ‘Unlawful Actions’ Stella Green, December 11, 2025 House Representative Delia Ramirez, D-Illinois, has urged the House Judiciary Committee to launch a complete investigation into Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for her alleged “unlawful and potentially impeachable actions.” During a recent hearing on the House Homeland Security Committee, Ramirez stated that Secretary Noem has misused federal resources allocated by Congress, engaged in unethical behavior, and made repeated false statements to both Congress and the press. She further accused Noem of undermining the separation of powers and disregarding the roles of Congress and the courts. “Secretary Noem, you have misused resources appropriated by Congress and engaged in unethical behavior. You have repeatedly made false and misleading statements to Congress and the press. And you have undermined the separation of powers and disregarded the role of Congress and the Courts. Bottom line: you LIE, you act with impunity, you reject checks and balances, and you ignore Congress and the Courts,” Ramirez said. Ramirez’s letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, D-Maryland, called for a complete investigation into Noem’s “unlawful and potentially impeachable actions.” A spokesperson for Jordan described Ramirez’s correspondence as “the most ridiculous and toothless correspondence ever written.” The Trump administration has expanded immigration enforcement and deportation efforts since Secretary Noem returned to the Department of Homeland Security. Under her leadership, the agency has accelerated deportation processes through expedited removal, new tracking technologies, and outreach programs designed to encourage voluntary departures. Noem has defended the hardline immigration approach, arguing that illegal aliens pose a threat and strict enforcement is necessary. However, she has faced criticism and lawsuits over deportation tactics that have included veterans and U.S. citizens being caught in raids, as well as restrictions on legal aid for immigrants during removal proceedings.
