Gene Simmons Hails Trump’s Redesigned Oval Office as ‘Terrific’

Ella Thomas, December 8, 2025

Kiss bassist and rock icon Gene Simmons has expressed his approval of President Donald Trump’s redesign of the White House Oval Office, calling it a significant improvement over previous administrations. Speaking at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday night, Simmons, alongside bandmates Paul Stanley and Peter Criss, commented on their experiences visiting the iconic room during past presidential inaugurations.

Simmons, reflecting on his visits under former President Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, remarked that the Oval Office had long been perceived as “drab” before Trump’s recent changes. Describing it as a “kid from Brooklyn” marveling at the transformation, he quipped: “It doesn’t suck” when asked about receiving an honor.

The musician also shared personal reflections on being recognized with a Kennedy Center Honoree medal and sitting in the Oval Office alongside the president.
