Rep. Byron Donalds Hails Trump as ‘President of Peace’ in Mideast Deal

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., praised Donald Trump as the “president of peace” during a Wednesday appearance on Newsmax, attributing the president’s efforts to secure an agreement between Israel and Hamas that aims to free hostages and stabilize the Middle East.

Speaking on “Greg Kelly Reports,” Donalds highlighted Trump’s role in negotiations designed to release captives and establish conditions for enduring stability in the region. “First things first: Donald Trump is the president of peace,” he stated. “He’s been committed to the peace process — not just in the Middle East, but all around the world. He wants people to live in harmony and peace, and he should be acknowledged by the Nobel Committee and everybody else.”

His remarks followed Trump’s announcement that Israel and Hamas had agreed to the “first phase” of his peace plan, which includes a halt to fighting and the release of some hostages and prisoners. Trump claimed the deal would lead to “a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” with all parties treated fairly.

Donalds emphasized the significance of the development, expressing hope that the agreement would hold. “My prayer is … that this deal holds, the hostages come home, and Israelis and their families gain real security and closure,” he said. He credited Trump and his team for advancing a path toward peace.

Negotiations have been ongoing in Egypt under a framework supported by Trump’s administration, which believes the plan could lead to a permanent ceasefire after two years of conflict. Donalds contrasted Trump’s record with past criticisms from political opponents, noting that critics once claimed Trump would trigger “World War III” if elected. “Once again, they put out lies that made no sense,” he said. “The truth is, Donald Trump is the one trying to bring peace not just to the Middle East, but to the entire world.”
